Local theatre critic Warren Gerds gave the Marx Brothers homage ‘Slaphappy’ four stars in his recent review.
“The play is a fast-paced, high-energy romp that teases presidential politics to the hilt. It’s funny.”
“Venture Theatre’s shows are fresh and original, and this run again is technically a world premiere. Definitely, you’d have to go a long way to find anything like “Slaphappy.”

The Green Bay Press-Gazette has graced its pages with another glowing review for Venture Theatre and our latest production, “The Pennsylvania Rose.” The three-star review includes these snippets:
“Out of the legends and sagas of the old “B” western movies rides “The Pennsylvania Rose,” a new and original play at Venture Theatre.”
“Stage westerns are rarely done, except maybe as melodramas. The beauty of Venture Theatre is it flies against fears of “can’t-be-done” and lets creativity loose.”
