DE PERE — Another original play will premiere at Venture Theatre when “Lustful Youth” opens Friday at the theater, 380 Main Ave.
Written by Mike Eserkaln of De Pere, the play is a tease of a television soap opera. The comedy pokes fun at the highly improbable situations of a standard soap opera.
Matt Worzala portrays the main character, Walt, a man held against his will and forced to write a soap opera that will achieve high viewership. Sarah Cobb plays Dill, Walt’s alter ego.
The soap opera cast whose characters lie, cheat and scheme their way through two acts consists of Justina Cegelski, Mike Lorenz, Kristin Abrahamson and Jason Zirbel. Direction is by Peter Blavat of Green Bay.
Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday through May 20.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students. The number for tickets is (920) 983-0966.
The play is the final one on the 2005-2006 season.
The theater is in the same building as ComedyCity, an improvisational comedy operation that has a schedule of its own.
